Can anyone recommend a lunch date place in NW DC? Preferably in Dupont, Foggy Bottom, Logan circle areas. Thanks.

If the weather is nice outside you can grab lunch at one of the eatries in 2000 Pennsylvania and eat either outside in the park on Penn or in the GW Quad.

I assume this is a "date" date . . no?
Well if you're pressed to impress, my hands-down all-time fave in the Dupont area (and in DC, really) is Sushi Taro (check my very first review) . . . though I'm not sure if they do lunch. and even if they do, it might have to be a longer, more expensive lunch.
Otherwise, here are some more casual options in the dupont area that seem to fare well:
- Cafe Japone (not sure if they do lunch)
- Pizza Paradiso
- Zorba's
- Thai Chef
- Raku
- Penang
I've reviewed pretty much all of these, and I'm sure others have to, so you might want to look them up. Hope that helps . . hey - you should report back to us how the date goes!

If you can venture to the Gallery Place/Penn Quarter area, then I would go for either Jaleo or Cafe Atlantico. Especially if you're trying to impress your date. These are extremely cool places, and not totally unreasonable prices for lunch (considering where they are located and what kind of ambiance they offer). Try to avoid Foggy Bottom if you can; there's not much going on there in terms of food since it's mostly cheap college student food (like greasy hamburgers and burritos), but you could do the Bertucci's that's in the 2000 Penn complex. In addition to the places Dorris suggested, I would also consider the Teaism that's in Dupont. Good luck!

I've liked Loriol in Dupont- fun for lunch because it's not so crowded and busy like it is at night. The food is usually better at lunch anyways. And whether it's a "date" date or just a "lunch date" this is a great place. :)

Lunch is my favorite meal of the day and as much as I love Sushi Taro, I'm thinking maybe I ought to branch out. Any wise ideas yelpers? I'm especially interested in lunch specials. What can I say? I love a deal!

Hi Mihir! Assuming Doris was right that this is a "date" date, then you want a place where you two can actually talk. A spot that serves lunch that looks like you put some thought into it and isn't totally crowded with the usual lunchtime crowd. If that's what you are looking for, too, then Mai Thai on 19th comes to mind (http://www.yelp.com/bi...). I really like the pizza at Pizzeria Paradiso, but the tables are so close together that it might be tough to get to know someone. Bertucci's can get the job done and the service there is friendly, but not always the most solid.
For lunch in the $10-$12 range for entrees, Grillfish is good and has some outdoor tables (http://www.yelp.com/bi...). Meiwah is another option right next door, but for the same entree prices, I like Grillfish better. Whatever kind of date it is, hope it goes well :).

Try Viridian....on 14th street. Very cool restaurant, good food, outdoor seating. If someone took me on a "date" date there, i'd be happy :)
I am not 100% sure if they have lunch though!

Take her to Larry's Ice Cream after you're done eating. Good ice cream with horrible, mean service. Her reaction to it will give you enormous insight into her personality.
